PAT AND DIETER's TRAVELS
Camp Jabulani
We left Chitwa around 11am for the drive to Camp Jubalani - whihc is within the Kampala reserve. We arrived in time for lunch - and Wow !! the food clearly lised up to its Relais et Chateau designation. After lunch we went to our villa to settle in bebfore our afternoon game drive. Our guide, Jeffery, was also the tracker (as the camp does not use separate trackers) - as it turned our since the lodge was not 100% full we were the only people in our jeep - which had both benefits and drawbacks. The day we arrived it was 30+C but near the end of the afternoon game drive the wind changed and the termperature dropped.
For the next 2 days it was freezing cold and blowing a gale - since we had a private jeep we could ask Jeffery to cut the drives short and not bother with morning coffee stop or the afternoon sundowners. Jeffery was not totaally happy with this as his mission was to ensure we saw "everything" which seemed to take priority our wishes.
The meals were amazing, served by our butler, Obert - dinner was often in different setting - the boma, the wine cellar and the main dining room. The lodge and our villa were amazing - Colonial chick with 5* luxury - however Chitwa had a better setting overlooking a large dam.
