Friday June 19

We left Palermo today - we had pre-booked a car to the airport for 9am - it arrived early but that was fine as we were 'locked and loaded'. It cost about $100 to get to the airport which is 30k's outside but we arrived in about 40 minutes which was good considering they recommend allowing 1 hour. After we checked in for our LH flight to Munich and cleared security we found out the lounge was before security and we weren't allowed to go back. Dieter was fuming 😡

After a 1h40m flight we waited 30 minutes for our luggage then caught the S-bahn to the city - the S-bahn ride was late due it stopping for some reason and hot as whatever aircon they had was totally insufficient - we finally got to out hotel, the Sofitel at 6pm. A very long travel day to get not all that far. We dropped our bags and went to the bar for a well deserved drink.

Back in our room - we showered and had dinner at the Sofitel's fine dining restaurant to use up our $US100 dining credit which was part of our booking.

Saturday June 20

Our only full day in Munich - we walked around the pedestrian area shopping as we went. We both scored some new "loot" (white pants and a great dress for me, and new Polo jammies and a shirt for Dieter). We went out for dinner at one the many restaurants which offer a $200 cash back from AmEx - we had an excellent meal.
